As a NJ family photographer I get quite a few questions that pop up on a recurring basis about so many things! I thought I would take this opportunity to answer some of those questions. I will be doing an ongoing series of FAQ’s that come up. Often, I get questions about session details and my process at Golden Heart Photography and I would LOVE to share all of it with you!

CAN YOU HELP WITH CHOOSING OUTFITS?
I absolutely love helping my clients and their families look their best in photos. All clients, both mini sessions and full sessions, get an email with my Client Experience guide included. This guide helps with what to expect for your session and also has tips for dressing everyone in the family. I have you all covered, mom…dad…kids. If you have any questions about outfits you are thinking about I am always here to help. My full sessions get the added benefit of access to the Golden Heart Mama’s Client Closet for busy moms (dress choices for moms), extra styling guidance for the whole family AND if lifestyle newborn I bring what we need for baby!
CAN I CHANGE OUTFITS?
The answer to this question depends on what type of session you are booking! Are you booking a mini session or a full session? When booking a mini session, we only have 10-15 minutes of time! I don’t want to take up most of that with changing outfits (especially with little ones!). If you want to do a clothing change for your mini session, we can book 2 sessions back to back and you can change in between.
For a full session, I allow one outfit change! Full sessions are between 30 and 60 minutes (can be slightly longer for lifestyle newborn depending on baby). We have plenty of time for an outfit change. If you have little ones, keep in mind that may take longer and that is less time spent photographing your family. Cake smash sessions I recommend two outfits for the little ones, one for portraits before we get messy and one for smashing cake! I also have a pop-up tent that I bring on location if we are photographing outdoors for getting changed (perfect for maternity sessions!).
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE NEED TO RESCHEDULE?
As a busy mom myself (and human) I completely understand things come up! Sometimes it’s the weather, sometimes it’s sickness and germs, sometimes it’s family. I always do my best to leave space in my calendar in case things come up! I will reschedule you for the next date that works best for you when I am available (mini sessions are rescheduled on my rain dates or another date of the same sessions). If for some reason we can’t reschedule easily, I will save your non-refundable retainer and apply it to a session later on (within 12 months!).
